In continuation of my older post, I now know that I am made up of three components

1. Consious thought - The driver and the trigger

2. Subconcious mind - the rigger

3. Body - The follower.

If I can control my thought and implant suggestions into my subconcious mind, I can achieve whatever I want to. If I can control this, I would have conquered the world :)

lessons learned - Handling stress through thoughts and not through mind

Today I have learned the biggest, deepest and most important secret
ever in my persuit of handling stress.

I have always believed that it is the subconsious mind that controls
and dictates how we react to a situation.

But today I have realized that subconsious mind is just a blind
follower of the most powerful entity that ever exists. It is our
"CONSIOUS THOUGHT"

Thought is the sole guiding power. It is as small and sharp as a
needle. But it is THE steering force to which the consious mind and
sub consious minds are attached. To the subconcious mind is the body
attached.

Ultimately, whereever the thought steers, BODY JUST FOLLOWS

Stress management lessons learned - Break the thought chain. Forcibly create diversion in the thought process

I am sure every person on this earth would have gone through stress at some point or the other. This is quite natural and our body can cope with this if it occurs occasionally.

But in today's world, the amount and extent of stress has gone way beyond the limit our body can withstand.

Stress is one of the major contributors either directly or indirectly in all the lifestyle related disorders today.

After extensively studying the stress patterns for over a year now and also personally going through very high levels of stress, i have realized that the harm does not actually come from being under stress, but it is because of being under stress for a long period of time continuously WITHOUT A BREAK.

So the trick, i have realised, is to forcibly break the thought pattern when under stress. We have to do this forcibly and consciously.

I will illustrate this with an example.
Scenario 1 - Say you are in the middle of a telephone conversation and the call got disconnected for some reason. You get angry momentarily. Once the call gets connected again, u continue with your conversation and completely forget that u were so angry just a few minutes back. This is purely momentary. It is perfectly normal and does not cause any harm to the body or mind.
Scenario 2 - You are under pressure at work to meet your sales target. You start thinking about it not just at work but even when you are at home or on a vacation. It constantly is revolving in your head. Its on your mind all the time, day, night, during lunch, in your sleep. To make things worse, you start feeling sick because of constant nagging thought. Now you cant give 100 % to the work and your performance degrades. So will your health.

From the above examples, it is very clear that it is the duration of the stress that is the culprit.

We have to conciously break this pattern. It will seem impossible in the beginning. But if we make concious effort every time and every day, after many weeks, this will start showing results

In the above example(scenario 2), You are aware of the sales targets. But there is nothing that can be done when you are at home or on a vacation except worry about it. Instead, you should live in the present moment and enjoy it. This will inturn help you get refreshed and will ensure that you approach the problem from a fresh perspective when you return to work. It will even help you in increasing the productivity.

When in office, there is no point in continuously thinking about the problem. Every time, the mind and thoughts start going deeper while thinking about the problem, The concious mind should immediately break this thought pattern and start thinking about something else that is pleasant. Maybe start planning for a next vacation, or browse the internet and plan for a movie in the evening or talk to a friend.
This will lighten the heart and mind is fresh. Now you can resume thinking and working on the problem at hand.

In summary take short and frequent breaks when under stress. During the break, completely shut off and divert the attention from the problem to something pleasant.

Conciously break the thought process
